About

My name is Reid Fowler, and I am a pastor currently located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

I am the Pastor Teacher at First Baptist Church of Chilliwack, for the second time. I was the Senior Pastor of the congregation from 1985 until 1995, and was asked to return in 2005. The church had lost almost 90% of its people during the previous ten years and apparently was desperate enough to ask me back. This makes me a recalled pastor, which is not a good thing for cars, appliances and processed meats, but the jury is still out on what it means for a pastor.

My wife, Judy, has always been considered to be the “best pastor’s wife ever” by all of the congregations we have served. Those six churches have been located in three Canadian provinces and one territory, in rural, small town, urban and suburban locations. They have ranged in size from 50 people to 1100 people. Since 1972 I have been a solo pastor, senior pastor, intentional-interim pastor and a transitional pastor. Prior to 1972 were youth ministries and seminary.

Our son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Carey, live in Yellowknife, in Canada’s North West Territories, and our daughter, Meaghan, lives in Boston, Massachusetts, where she works as a business development specialist and writer. She is engaged to Gradon Tripp, a most excellent Bostonian. She is also one of the world’s premier bloggers, as is her future husband.

This site is for opinion, discussion, debate, argument and hopefully some help for pastors, church leaders and others who have been trampled by sheep, the sheep in their own congregations. It will also be a place to mock and deride the follies of what is now loosely known as the evangelical church.

Thank you for coming by.
